Every once in while moviegoers are treated to a wholesome family entertainment. That's when film producers decide that movie watchers, especially those who like to bring their family along, have had enough of crime, sex, drugs and violence for a plot.

Produced by Anthony Cardoza (Bigfoot, Hellcats, Outlaw riders), with executive producer Jamie Nga Diep, Misfit Patrol fits that once-in-a-while wholesome family entertainment to a tee. And this is not even an exaggeration. You'll know it right away as soon as you settled on your seat to watch two of LAPD's finest, funniest if dumbest street cops Dave Bryant ( Dave Fuentes) and Buford Murphy (Conrad Brooks) operates a beat which happens to be a rock' n roll high school in search for illicit drug dealers.

Even to the real life LAPD force, Bryant and Murphy should provide a wholesome, if comical relief to the actual rigors of a law enforcement job. Dave Fuentes gives his namesake character more than enough to be loved and laughed about every bit of the way. The same may be said of Conrad Brooks, who plays sidekick to Bryant as Murphy.

The zany duo 's pairing with sultry Sheila (Hope Kelley), who plays undercover DEA agent, who later displays her affection for Bryant, provides more solidness to the zany and comical plot upon which this comedy revolves. There is no gain-saying that the horizon is bright for this very talented former Texan beauty to get more action roles in the immediate future, not to mention comedy roles, albeit not as a typecast....

Vernon Wells (Mad Max, Commandos) is superb in his role as the dense, if wiry Captain Cooks, the chief of the Laurel Avenue Police Department.

My advice is don't just watch Misfit Patrol for its zany and comical scenes, which by the way, are provided from first to last frame. There are enough lessons to learn from it too. Even with a corrupt Judge H.T. Haschett (Tanya George), and an equally corrupt bailiff (Mickey Webber), the lesson is still crime does not pay. That schools remain unsafe to drugs and gang violence is definitely a worthy lesson we can derive here. But when law enforcers, however, dumb, remain clean in the pursuit of their work, then as parents of kids prone to gang, drug, violence in such schools can nonetheless heave a sign of relief.
