Beautiful Mabel Dunham (Laurie Holden) and her uncle Cap (Michael Hogan) are rescued from Indian attack and raging waterfalls by the Pathfinder, along with his adopted father, Chingachgook (Graham Greene), and Jasper Western (Jaimz Woolvett). Fleeing through the spectacular Niagara Gorge and escaping an Indian ambush, they reach the safety of Fort Oswego on the Lake Ontario shore, where Mabel is reunited with her father, Sgt. Dunham (Dan MacDonald). The respite is short-lived. Pathfinder and Jasper are dispatched on a mission across the storm-raked lake to help relieve a beleaguered British outpost, accompanied by Mabel--who has won both their hearts--and her father, Sgt. Dunham. A ferocious French attack, aided by a turncoat officer, is beaten back and the outpost is saved, though this climactic night-and-day battle costs Dunham his life. Pathfinder loses Mabel to Jasper, but realizes his true destiny. With his father, Chingachgook, he returns to the freedom and the challenge of the wilderness that is his life. The Pathfinder is a classic adventure that the whole family will enjoy--Indian battles, storms at sea, treachery and love--all told as a tale for young and old alike.
